Tuesday, April 27

Highlights:

  • Today we did a Tree Tracker Activity. We learned what all the different kinds of tree are in our school field. Ask we kind of tree we have the most of! We also learned that all the trees in Calgary are worth 1.3 billion dollars. We were able to find out how much each of the trees in our school were worth.

  • In Math we did an estimation clipboard activity. We made comparisons between different objects.
  • During Literacy, we have started to write the final drafts of our stories.
  • For Art, we did a spring tree using watercolours and tissue paper. Each of them turned out beautiful!

Reminders:

  • On Thursday we will have Community Helpers Day. Students are encouraged to dress up as any community helper of their choice.
Looking for a super easy way to support fundraising for our NLS playground installation?

We've partnered with Skip the Depot to help us raise money for the NLS playground installation!

What is SkipTheDepot? It's a door-to-door bottle collection service that makes refundable recycling and fundraising easier than 1,2,3.
  1. Download the app and book a pick-up using https://app.skipthedepot.com/nlsfundraisingsociety
  2. Place your bags outside
  3. Donations come directly to our school - no fuss, no muss!
SkipTheDepot will allow everyone to donate directly to Northern Lights School Fundraising Society with ease.

If you’d prefer to drop off your bottles, you can do so at Calgary Bottle Exchange, located at 9218 Horton Rd SW and don’t forget to mention it’s for NLS Fundraising Society.

Thanks for your support!
